Facilities & Programming Coordinator
Published 6.11.26
Protohaven is seeking a part-time facilities and programming coordinator to help direct the day-to-day operations of Pittsburgh’s largest community makerspace.
Our ideal candidates are motivated, creative problem-solvers and patient communicators who will work in service to our members — a customer-service mindset is a must here. They also will have previous people- or project-management experience; familiarity with fabrication tools and techniques; and the ability to operate under an atypical reporting structure.
Board Members
Protohaven seeks qualified individuals interested in serving on our Board of Directors for a 3-year term fulfilling all expected responsibilities. Board members are charged with guiding the strategic planning process and in providing direction to achieve goals, supporting the Executive Director and other staff in these initiatives.
Shop Techs
Protohaven’s volunteer Shop Tech program is a co-development program where participants build their design, fabrication, interpersonal, and shop management skills while helping shape and support our community. It is ideal for individuals who are enthusiastic about design, fabrication, and helping to lead a clean, welcoming, and functional community shop.
Instructors
Do you have skills or a passion that you’d like to share? Apply to be an Instructor at Protohaven!
Education at Protohaven is key to nurturing the makers in our community! We’ve spent the last few years building a top-quality makerspace that includes laser cutters, 3D printers, electronic and jewelry benches, and full textile, wood, machining, welding and metal shops. Each of those areas needs excellent teachers who are eager to nurture the maker in our members as they develop and discover skills.
