3D Studio

Our 3D Studio currently has 3 Prusia brand PLA printers. These printers take plastic and heat it to a malleable temperature then draw out the design it was given. On the opposite wall (near the lasers) we are working on getting a resin 3D printer area set up, which uses LED lights to harden liquid plastic layer by layer to create the given design. Resin accels at smaller more detailed prints, while PLA is more general use.

Electronics

I personally know next to nothing about this area, I generally tell people they can solder a thing if they need to, and you can modify computer hardware as well.

Textiles

Textiles has equipment for fabric design and modification. You’ll find the large cutting table here along with consumer, and industrial grade sewing machines. We also have A CNC embroidery machine that can take vector graphics and sew the design for you.

Lasers

The lasers take vector graphic designs and apply them to most woods or acrylic type plastics. They can cut up to ¼” of material, they can also engrave designs on thicker material that it can cut.

Graphics

Area consists mainly of heat presses that work with three different shapes. One for flat objects, one for curved objects like mugs, and one for hats. This area also has our vinyl cutter, and roll printer.

Shop

Woodshop

Woodshop is a great place to have a conversation about clearances. The woodshop is broken down into a few related areas:

General Woodworking

Woodworking Basics can combine a number of related pieces of equipment as they share similar safety practices and are beginner friendly.

Millwork and Joinery

Millwork can combine a number of related pieces of equipment as they share similar safety practices and represent a combination of related processes needed before moving rough wood over to general woodworking.

CNC Router

The router is a CNC driven process that requires more technical knowledge to operate safely. It is really easy to miss a detail and break the machine or injure yourself or others. Wood Lathe The wood lathe is used for making rounded form objects. From bowls to containers or even a bat.

Plastics

Protohaven’s approach to plastics is “circular first” representing a commitment to sustainability. Precious Plastics Focuses on reclaiming #5 plastic to create new parts and products. Vacuum Former Industrial Injection Molder
