===== Document Production Software =====

These materials are prepared with [[https://typst.app | Typst]], an open-source document preparation system that turns text-based markup files into PDF output.

Using Typst has benefits: it's appropriate tooling for paginated documents (which we want, if we want to print out physical copies for students or the shop floor), and supports content reuse.

===== Content Reuse =====

At the moment, the printed document set supports content reuse of:

   * Policy content
   * Tool guides
   * Software guides
   * Concept guides

...across class handouts and shop floor binders.

===== Version Control =====

The source files for the printed document set are in version control, as part of the monorepo ''printed_materials'' in the Protohaven GitHub organization:
